 Light painting with a torch and 95 second exposure. The reason the legs are so cartoony is that light painting is frigging hard to do! It took about 20 takes just to get a shape that wasn't an overlapping tangle of lines. After painting the legs, I flashed the torch around on the wall and ground to try and make it look like the light-figure was illuminating the area.

Those beams of light you might be able to just make out behind the poles are from the Youth Olympics venue down at Marina Bay. The white dots in the sky are where the beams shine onto the clouds. I thought they might add to the beam-up theme, but they ended up just looking like the result of bad photoshopping.

The sky and wall are a little bit dirty below the light feet. That's me ghosting - I tried to move around lots while painting so as to not get picked up by the camera. And not being entirely successful obviously.

The reason the wall is skewed upwards to the left is that the poles weren't completely vertical. It looked stranger with a horizontal wall and crooked poles than it did with nearly vertical poles and a sloping wall so I went with this one. Stop rambling. It's late. I should be going to bed.

Oh, and Cpt Kirk never said "Beam me up, Scotty." He said "Beam me up" and "Scotty, Beam me up" and a few other similar things I think, but never that famously misquoted one. I'm sure there are lots of this quote in this challenge though so you probably knew that already :)

The spotlights in the background make it look like other people are getting beamed up too :-P Nice.
