 A drinking cup viewed though a translucent sheet lit with a flashlight behind it. Was originally an orange color, but I when I played with it, I thought the bluish toning looked like a n x-ray.

That's another really cool approach. I like it a lot and it sure does look like an x-ray. At least aliens have ribs!
