Wood storks on the side of the road. I just rolled to a stop on the pavement and shot a couple of shots out the open window of my work truck. You can see the edge of the mirror at the left edge of the shot. There were only 5,000 pairs of them left in the late 1970's.

I could see this processed with a lot more contrast, to make it rather painterly.

Everything has to make a living, doesn't it? 400 pounds of food per family per breeding season sounds like a lot! (I wonder what a human family goes through in the same time?) I hope that the awareness of their plight means that they can thrive into the future.

You have some of the best 'from auto' shots that I've seen. Nice little colony of these Storks. Never heard them called Iron Heads before. Learnin all the time :-)
