First off congrats on your first submission... it's exciting when you get those first week's results back!
Composition - The main focal point is very centered in this picture, which usually isn't desirable in photography. I think had you moved the egg and silly putty somewhere else in the picture (rule of thirds) it might have made for a more interesting photo. I also think that the main subject could have filled the frame a lot more. As it is it doesn't do much, visually.
Exposure - don't really see anything wrong with this, looks ok to me.
Color - the colors are vibrant blue, very pretty, and you caught them pretty well.
Focus - your focus is really good. No problems there.
Background - your background is very distracting, not only is it blue, and competeing for attention with the intended subject, but also it is very in focus. I would have suggested, maybe something pure white to really make the blue egg and putty stick out!
Fit for challenge - all blue, what can I say?
Lighting - the lighting is uneven, and very bright on some spots. It's hard not having a studio, or the setup to take a good picture in. Believe me, I know... I'm at college
Wowability - I don't see much here... it just doesn't catch me
Final Comments - good job.... try the shot over, and experiment... it can be a real learning experience... and besides its digital, your not wasting any film :-) Good luck!

| Yes, this is a picture of BLUE silly putty. I had just gotten my camera (first one ever) and wanted to at least enter something in the current contest! I threw this shot together without a tripod and without proper lighting. The shot was created by placing a blue towel over top of the power bar I had sitting on my dresser and adding the silly putty to the scene. Not bad for a first attempt, but I will have better things to offer soon I hope! ;) |

| You know, when you tint things blue for a blue challenge it just takes away from it. There is no blue Silly Putty. |

| There's a little too much negative space in this photo for my taste. I would have preferred a closer shot. I wonder if it would have been more interesting if you had put a blue ball or something round in the silly putty as if it were a yolk. |

| Silly Putty! I love this stuff... boy, you certainly got a lot of blue in this picture...I think it would have been better if you would have gotten closer to the subject, and put it offcenter. Also I think it was a little bit of overkill to put it on a blue rug. Maybe you could have tried for a different angle, not just a straight on shot. Keep trying! |

| Light is uneven across shot. Subject isn't big enough in frame. Background has too much texture. Nice clarity, colour and definition. |
