 Flip flopping on my entry this week. I am somewhat leery of entering this one, because I know that insect macros are going to be a cliche for this challenge, and some may take the shallow DOF as incidental by the nature of the subject. It's probably the strongest image I have for it, however and one of my best insect shots. (I probably have something good from Saturday's WW Photowalk, but I don't have time to play with those before rollover)

Anticipated critiques:
-Shallow DOF is incidental to the nature of the subject and not really a significant element of the composition.

Post-challenge notes:
Did well enough to keep me happy. The voting breakdown shows me this had plenty of appeal for a lot of people, and some others were unimpressed with an entry that was a cliche shot for this challenge.

Not intending to put anyone else's shots down but, in my estimation, there are shots that placed ahead of yours that your score should have been higher than. Don't know what drives voters anymore???

Nice sharp details on the Damselfly. A little less stick might help this have more impact.

I know how hard these guys make it for you. Constantly flying away, as you try to get close. It seems the more colorful the dragon fly, the more skidish. Good job in stalking and good focus point. My only quible would be his butt. Just wish it wasn't so reflective. But what can you do...Great job!
