If anyone is curious about the lighting, I used 24W (equivalent to 100W of light) CFL bulbs mounted on a clamp reflector. Three on the top right, two on the bottom left. These provide really nice soft light.

Post-processing is simple and the key is something that I do on most on my pictures: I use a duplicate layer with the usual Gaussian blur in soft light layer mode and another layer with a High Pass filter set to around 50%, with an adjustment layer set to saturation. I slightly decrease saturation until I find the right colors.

Thanks for the great feedback! This was a really fun photo shoot!

Wow... I was sure that'd do far far better than it did. I was one of your four 9's.
Nice soft lighting. Great composure. Nice DOF. Good use of negative space.
I was looking for this when I was going through the top few pages of the competition entries and was surprised to not see it. The only thing I'd change with it is on the top over her right shoulder there's a bit of something black popping down. In advanced editing (I believe) you could have cloned that out as it wasn't a major constituent of the shot. Otherwise you might have been able to crop it out. Or make a boarder disguise it or something.
Again, excellent work.

Nicely done. I like that it's a bit soft -- gives it an "old schooldays" sort of feel.
