 Valasaurus's first entry Sunflower.


While not an exact recreation, I think the green 'border' and the bee add much needed depth to the shot.

In hindsight, I shot this subject using too narrow a DOF...the bee was not quite sharp enough for my liking.

I'd say the bee is plenty sharp. :) You did a nice job improving the sharpness, composition, and visual interest over the original. Congrats on top 15!

Sorry there are just too many pictures titled Sunflower. I can't vote if I don't know the original from whence this came.
So now I know... EXCELLENT retake. The other one was closely cropped to suit the round challenge, I guess, but yours works for round too. It's still bright and sunny with the focus aimed right at the middle. The added bonus of the luscious bokeh and green color surrounding it makes this not just an ordinary sunflower picture. Well done. 9
