I played with a make shift Variable ND filter by combining a circular and linear polarizing filter to take this shot. I did this more as a test than to achieve a certain look. The water though is blurred due to the one second exposure. It also influenced the density in areas of the water and the sky.

Selective colour adjustments to bring out the yellow in the sand and the blue in the water.

Unsharp mask and scale.

I'm very surprised by the voter response with 4 days to go. I took 2 different images for this challenge on the last day of submission. I didn't like either image very much and wasn't able to pull together my awesome ribbon winning idea with only 2 hours left before deadline so I submitted this image anyway. I wasn't expecting this much response.

Some kind of filter on the lens? I like the effect it creates. It adds a lot of interest and mood to the shot.

Beautiful. Not sure about the vignette, it seems to unbalance the comp, IMO.

I think this landscape, without a person in, would have been more interesting. I love your edition and colors. 8 anyway

This has a lot of compositional appeal and meets the challenge nicely, but the heavy burning in some parts detracts from the impact.

the sky and upper left corner reveals some PP problems but the subject and composition is great

I LOVE the processing on this. I'm torn as to whether or not the sunbather improves or detracts from the shot. But I think it transforms this from being just another shot of driftwood to something with a story. Hope you'll share your processing steps.
