 Sheba picked us for a family. We had no choice in the matter. I believe she was abused before she moved in with us. Took her years to settle down and trust people. Here she's trying to cool down on the porch, shedding her coat like crazy.

I'll bet you're wearing nearly as much fur as she is. She looks like a nice dog - I'm glad you took her in. You know, I used to always believe that untrusting dogs must have been abused, but our dog is very wary of strangers and she has always been treated well and with respect. She's never been exposed to adverse attention at all (unless you count vet exams).
