simple curves adjustments but done many times to separate the lighter tones from the dark.
black and what conversion yellow filter with another curves adjustment to complete the look.

I like the composition and lighting a lot, but I don't know how well it represents the theme of chaos. Perhaps a wider shot, including more plants would feel more chaotic. Still, this is a very pleasing shot.

I understand what you're trying to go for but, to be honest, this is a pretty calming shot. I like it.
