This was taken using a laser pointer hanging from a string. The camera was flat on its back on a table, with the pointer swinging back and forth about 3 feet above. The different patterns come from the changing swings; first it went back and forth, then it shifted to a circular pattern.

Thanks! I thought it was pretty good. I did quite a few shots of the laser, it was hard to figure out what was working and what wasn't...I had to pick up the camera to view the screen and then figure out where to place it back down. I actually ran out of time on this or I would have shot a few more. The lower right corner of the pattern was cut off...I would have much preferred a more symmetrical crop that included all of the red light.

The blown out parts in the center are where the laser pointed directly into the lens...
