 I parked my car next to the graveyard and used my headlights to light the gravestone. It was a misty night and I wanted the background to be relatively well lit with the streetlights diffused through the mist.

Then I put it into photoshop, did a curves layer, did some dodging and burning, and sharpened with a high-pass filter, masking out the blurred leaves.
