 I have no idea where this came from. I guess it was just tucked away in the ol' gray matter and the Double Take challenge moved some cobwebs out of the way...

I've always loved Escher's work and I hope you'll enjoy my take on it.

Not much to the Post Processing.
In RAWTherapee, increased blacks.

Cropped, converted to B/W, a touch of unsharp mask, cloned dust spots, scaled to size and optimized for Web using Gimp.

Lighting:
Used Nikon SB-20 from about 3 ft. away, ~45^ camera right and above subject, set on wide angle at 1/8 power.

This is a popular concept, and the composition is good, but the procesing lacks "pop". Needs more contrast or something.
