This is my first DPC submission. Please be honest =)

I set this up in my lab. I wanted to get a leech and its baby nuzzling. I realize that this is extremely high ISO but it doesn't show too much grain. The DOF might not be perfect. The lighting setup was an on-camera flash (orange filter to accentuate the patterns on the leech). An off-camera flash was used on the right, using a paper diffuser. Editing involved basic exposure compensation, saturating, sharpening,

Interesting photo, has me wondering what they area. I think I would have liked a larger depth of field to have the entire "thing" in focus.

Wow. What an exceptionally unphotogenic subject. One typically does not associate slimy water-dwellers with the concept of motherhood.
