I've got a shot that just happened to have one of these guys in it as well. I only realized after I looked at the shot later that he was there. FWIW, this is a species of sweat bee.
As others have said, the contrast between the red and green work nicely. |

Wonderful reds and greens, with nice details on both the flower and the green insect. I suspect this one would have gotten good respect in the FS. |

That is a pretty cool little insect. The contrast between his colours and those of the flower make it all very vibrant. |

I'd love to see more of this bug; I've never seen one like it that I can recall. Lovely contrast to the coneflower. Try fill flash with little bugs; it can make all the difference in really freezing the little guys (figuratively, of course). |

Very nice. Love all the colors. The red really pops out. Just a tad of a blur on the insect. |

Very nearly outstanding - the bokeh of the flower is great. Just a tad less movement and this would be amazing. |

I like the colors with this, but wish you had a bit of a different angle. Bump your ISO up a bit and get a faster shutter speed or fire your flash and let it stop the action. |

I've never seen a bee that colour, wow, great find. Photo is a bit fuzzy, doesn't look quite in focus. |
