Greetings from the Critique Club!!
My initial reaction to the shot was that it was a commercial Jet and I couldn't understand the title. Upon further review, I found the USAF on the wing and "got it". I feel that this explains one of the problems with the shot. It is hard to tell exactly what you are looking at. I know how hard it is to get into position to take a shot of an airliner as I tried it last week for the Motion Challenge. However, a frontal or side view or even a landed military plane with the Wild Blue Yonder in the background may have told a better story.
Your focus is excellent for a moving object (or I would have never been able to read the USAF!). IMO your negative space would have been much more effective if the cropping would have moved your subject out of the center of the frame. Perhaps a little more contrast would have made the plane stand out against the sky too.
Overall, the shot meets the challenge with the beautiful blue sky but needed a bit more oomph to do better in the challenge.

Beautiful sky, good shot of the sky. But - is it landing, taking off, a military plane, or a passenger plane. Calm before the storm was a last week shot. It appears to be landing with the wings, etc. Pretty picture. PTL |

Love the negative space you used. Good luck in the challenge. Jacko. |

A different crop to move the plane out of the center would have helped this shot in my opinion. But I like the clarity and focu. |
