Photographer’s Notes
Toward the end of May, my daughter and I did a road trip on our Ducati motorcycles. From Seattle to Victoria, BC was an easy ride/ferry hop. From Victoria to Courtenay with a stop at Mount Washington was fun. The 3-ferry hop from Courtenay (via Lund, Powell River, Earl’s Cove and Horseshoe Bay) to Vancouver was terrific and we avoided the attention of the speed-tax-collectors along the way.

When we arrived at Vancouver, we took the ferry over to Granville Island to replace our electrolytes and have dinner. This is the view from where we ate. The bridge is the Granville Bridge. It looks enormous in the photo but is even more impressive IRL.

The photo makes Vancouver look like it’s made of steel. It’s actually a lively, lovely city with terrific restaurants, arts, entertainment … a city that is largely crime and pollution free. It’s home to a vibrant shipping and cruise ship industry. It has been the set for countless movies looking for an interesting backdrop. Among them: Twilight; The Hurt Locker; 2012; Titanic; Juno; Tron; The Butterfly Effect; Night at the Museum; The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008); I Robot; Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants; Andromeda Strain (2008); Jumanji; … literally thousands of TV and Movie locations.

Enough travelogue, hope you enjoy the photo.

Like the B&W processing. Nicely framed using the bridge.
