Once I decided to do this shot (last minute, of course), it took forever for the squirrels to get up the courage to get the peanut. It was too dark on this night, so things were grainy, but I did the shot anyway. I was sure the next day I could get a better shot.

Then I decided to try flash instead. I tried it twice, scared the squirrel and he didn't come back all the next day (which of course was the last day of the challenge.)

This is more what I was trying to get (taken a week later, not as clear because I didn't bother with the tripod, but you get the idea)

Congrats on a Big 6 finish! At least one of my 5 squirrels has been getting very tame lately. He has walked up to within 3 feet of me a couple of times when I am standing or sitting out in the open. You must have been very close to get this detail with a 100mm.
