The current camera rarely screws up by focussing on a near stationary object but it has happened in the past, so I simulated that idea. Positioned myself so horses by the inside rail would be framed by the outside one, focussed on the closest rail and shot away.

Title courtesy my DPL teammate Jutilda :-)

PP - tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), opened in PhotoImpact, duotone, increased contrast, dodged/burnt a little on jockey, cloned out jockey's ghost head, resized, sharpened, added border.

I like your perspective on this. It feels like the ground it a bit over-sharpened, with many visible pixels.

Nice use of motion blur. I would give this a very high vote if this were a motion blur or general blur challenge. The background does appear to be slightly OOF however, but the motion blurred horse is the main thing my eye is drawn to.
