I did countless shots in the studio today with my friend and exuberant model Stephanie, but this one kept grabbing me as I looked through all of them. I absolute love the energy and dynamic feel of it. :)

Shot with two medium softboxes (one to either side of her) and an umbrella from the front for fill. The camera bag was given to me by my late grandmother and was the first I ever owned back when I was still logging dark room hours. Many thanks go out to Steph for putting up with such a long shoot day and jumping around like a maniac so many times. :D

Greetings from the Critique Club

Well. Wow. what to say? Great image. Super expressions, great energy and a classic bag as subject.

But my eyes keep on wandering to the texture on the background. What is it? Some sort of a designer backdrop. I see patterns of balloons on it and maybe then others too did. Although these patterns enhances the lighting setup you had, it takes away importance on subject as it keeps grabbing viewers eye to it.

I really liked the costume your model is wearing and it really adds a lot more impact to this shot. The yellow for sure has given a lot to this image that after seeing this photo I am forced to think if the colour had been anything else but yellow, it would have taken away a bit of your score.

I however didn't like cropping off a part of her leg towards the left of the photo. Ideally I would prefer the same margin you have kept towards the right onto the left as well.

Well thats my 2 cents.

Midhun

Nice shot. However, I paid more attention to the girl than the bag ;)
