Shot at the same time as my January Freestyle entry. I know this has some haloing but I love the look of pushing the processing for b/w. Oh yeah and I know the wing is cutoff, you try capturing these guys in action! We'll see how beat up I get.

JB, this is among your best yet. The action you've captured is outstanding. Composition is dramatic and really enhances the action. You ought to be shooting for Audubon or something like it.

This looks quite a lot like something an artist would draw. It's not often that a wildlife photo has that quality of action and timing. This is nicely presented, and yes, I also see the halo, but as you said, it adds that "touch" that makes this very different.

spectacular catch! And who cares if the wing is cut off? I think it adds a sense of urgency to the shot. 10 from me!

Fantastic moment. I don't like the halos around the tree branches and the eagles but still a great capture.

dramatic capture. at first i thought it was too bad you lost the wing, and that it hurt the overall composition. but perhaps it does well to mimic the continuation of the tree. a bit over-sharpened as the edges are haloing for me. and i've decided to go with too bad you lost the wing ;) -8

There is an irritating halo on both of the birds, and a little to much clarity, otherwise its nice.

Nice shot but this is really oversharpened. There are definite halos especially in the branches.

great photo but shame about the hues around the trees, is that abberation or overuse of USM? cant tell. Wonderful image overall though.

Looks like an old painting. I think it's the postures; they're just classic looking to me. A bit of haloing in the trees but this is really an awesome capture.

Nice catch but it is oversharpened, especially around the branches where there are visible halos around them.
