Yes, the bee is real. No, it's not alive. I found it on a Monday while I was hiking. Picked it up and put it in a pocket on my backpack. Didn't take him out till Thursday, 3 days later.
He was a little smashed and about 10 ants came fleeing out of its backside when I was about to place it on my nose. Kind of gave me the creeps!
Took about 10 tries to get a shot I was happy with.
