Taken at the local high school lacrosse match. This was a fun outing as I played lacrosse for many years, at high school, University, and beyond. The decision to consider black and white for this was in large part to minimize the distraction of the yellow school bus in the upper left. However, I thought it worked well for other reasons too. I was really pleased with how the 7D performed at 1600 ISO.

Thanks for the comments.

Nice cluster of action here that loses nothing in black and white.

I like the use of B&W, draws more attention to the players' expressions.

Ok this one gets an 8. I have no complains with it, good composition, layering of subjects, sharp, 'action' in the moment.

nice work. you might try shooting from a lower perspective and shooting a little tighter. take the viewers into the action that they can't see from the sidelines.
