Justine - you're right about it being a handheld, and hence the lack of sharpness.

I was actually sitting in a moving (albeit barely moving) plane when I took it, so I just didn't get a chance to setup things properly, like the ISO.

Good perspective. My eye runs right down the line-up taking in the shapes and colors.
This is perfect for the challenge and speaks volumes.

My guess is this is hand held and that is the reason for the blur, grain out of focus appearance. I'm also guessing it was a dark day with a flat sky.
Why the ISO of 400.
Over all I like this shot very much. Not sure how you got out there to shoot it, but think it's wonderful that you did.

Nice lines leading the eye into the photo. I think this is okay in this direction even though others may have commented that it be horizontally flipped. I think breaking the rules for this one works well. Unfortunately the photo's quality makes it suffer a bit... otherwise, nice idea, colors and framing.

On another challenge I'm not sure I'd rank this so highly - I'm not too keen on the framing (although I can't decide how I would have cropped it better!) but it does exactly what a front page picture has to do - tells a story - and it tells it well. Cracking stuff!

This is one traffic jam I don't mind being caught up in....it's great when you get there (as opposed to jam where the destination is work!) Not a bad shot.

Very funny! But ignoring the title, I do like this shot. Worthy of a front page? Almost. Well done.

Yup. I like it for topic.

Good idea. But needs more focus. Maybe sharpen by 1 would do it. Otherwise nice photo. PTL5

I can visualize this on a TV news show with a soundtrack of honking horns behind it...

Great pic. I like the headline too. The soft focus here isn't hurting a thing either. They could'nt print it any clearer I don't think. Great capture. I like this shot a lot. - Inspzil

Blurry, but interesting.

Great compositiion, very well aligned, and some of us (frequent flyers) can relate. Hope it did not take too much time to explain to the authorities why you were taking pictures.
Good luck.

To bad this shot is not in focus. That would have been an awsome shot.

Excellent title! Too bad the English weather doesnt help with more light . But I really like it!

Thats a great shot, I think that the focus isnt quite sharp enough though. The picture draws you in and the line of planes leads you to the edge of the shot, a plane just taking off would be good to give the sky a bit more interest. Natasha

A little sharper!....Darn it! Nice image...6

Did you use a "press pass" to get this shot??!! Very cool shot, and IMO, definitely meets the challenge. Nice work. lhall

Neat shot.
11/25/2002 05:59:00 PM
Seems a bit unsharp and I wish the colors popped more.
11/25/2002 05:07:00 PM
Not very good focus. Should have sharpened it a little.

That'll work... nice DOF
11/25/2002 10:28:00 AM

I like this, it's very interesting, not sure whether it would be front page news, but it's a very good journalistic style photo!
