Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Double Exposure (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D80
Lens: Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D
Location: Living room
Date: Apr 26, 2010
Aperture: 9
ISO: 100
Shutter: 8 seconds
Galleries: Still Life, Science and Technology
Date Uploaded: Apr 26, 2010

Multiple exposure function used on the camera.

First photo was to expose the tower with it's side on. The room lighting was on.

The second with the side off. The room lighting was off and a torch used to highlight the motherboard etc.

Quite a lot of post-processing to adjust white balance and to desaturate certain unsightly brown hues on the front of the case.

Tools used:
Irfan to convert from NEF to tif formats
Windows Picture editor to auto balance and tweak some levels.
Serif Photoplus for crop, levels, desat and convert to jpeg.
Irfan to add border and resize for web.

This is nice but would have been better to have balanced the exposure more evenly to create the see through effect. Otherwise the concept is good.

Good idea but the trash can / dust bin at the bottom cuts the score

I like the idea, but it's a bit too hard to tell there was a cover there (only place it's seen is the far left of the chassis).
