Hard to find something from my landscape outing that I liked well enough to submit. This was a last-minute choice. Not thrilled with the composition, but I figure it works ok in b/w. Originally I was going to drive out to the Badlands in the Anza-Borrego desert (I figure it's pretty monochrome there to begin with), but I was too short on time. Today I was hoping to get some central-Illinois windmill farm shots, but my flight to Chicago was delayed, so it was too dark by the time I drove by them.
Cropped, converted to bw, resized, sharpened, resized, sharpened, cloned out sensor dust, flipped horozontally. I think I left levels as they were. |

Great idea, beautifully done. It does feel of death and devastation, but also of rebirth and new beginnings. So goes nature... |

Living in California, as I do, I see a lot of this type of devastation and the power fire has to wreak it. Your photo is a stark portrayal of what is left afterward - good job in the your pp. |

I admire the range of tones captured in your image, particularly in the way that the trees really stand out to demonstrate your title. |

This is a really great idea that I think might be better executed in detailed shots than in this landscape format. |

Nice subjects. Lovely clear difference between the trees and the sky. |
