Your Critique Club Critique

Hi there. This image didn't stand out for me. I just gave it a 4 and moved on. That's a bit of a harsh vote, but basically my method is to start at 3 and bring the score up from there. I gave you an additional point for not looking like a standard landscape, but stopped at 4 because I don't think you did enough with your "strip" concept.

The tones are rather ... normal. They neither "pop" with high contrast nor do they purr with low contrast, not any other effect. The composition is bland, no energy. It is mostly symmetrical.

The trees are interesting and different from each other. In fact, this "strip" might be significantly better just by being in a larger format where you can more easily enjoy the individual trees.

However... I can't see the forest for the trees.

the perspective - looking down from above - seems to make the trees on the strip to get blended into the trees beyond.

the crop seems confining in the vertical direction. landscapes often benefit from a foreground grounding point to emphasize the depth of the scene - here we have no such grounding point
