Thank you very much for all the kind & thoughtful comments. Here is the color version. This Chinese Fringe Tree is awesome to behold in real life, it's dripping with fringed white flowers, but my photo made it look like nothing. Good thing I don't want to grow up to be a landscape photographer.

For just a bunch of trees, this came out great. Love the contrasting colors.

I like how this tree really stands out. This would have been better for me if this tree were more on the right and more scene on the left.

Nicely composed but I would like to see more detail in the trees.

2 things...for me this has a crunchy look to it and your tones are very dull/flat...I'm guessing probably because of the time of day...to much full bright sunshine

There is a little too much going on here for my eye to focus of anything. I learnt something recently at camera club, green and red are tonaly very similar, therfore when you have red and green together and convert to black and white the tones all blend together with very little contrast. I'm sure this would be way more interesting in colour. Hope I was of some help and didn't offend you :)

With the background clutter containing all the trees, the subject tree doesn't stand out well enough even though it is clearly a different tone. I am sure in color it must really pop out.
