I wish her shoes could have been more visible, but her high heels were sinking into the ground. :-o

I ended up losing a Pentax flash unit and a Cactus V4 wireless remote on this shot. During setup, I put the flash, wireless remote and umbrella on a light stand. When I was walking back to my car, a little gust of wind sent the umbrella(read: sail) into the lake. Crap. Luckily, I had brought along all of my spare remotes and flash units. This just goes to show that you really, really need to weigh down your light stands when setting up outdoors. I won't make that mistake twice.

I had checked the weather before heading out and saw that the next day was supposed to be sunny. So I figured the sunset would be giving off some good color. The problem was, there were no clouds to speak of. On the way to the lake, the clouds did start developing and the color started to reach across the sky. Nice.

This was a pretty simple shoot. Underexpose the background just a little, use a shallow dof, and a single umbrella to the left. Flash was a Metz 48 at 1/4 power. I just kept making adjustments to the aperture/shutter to keep the background looking the same as the ambient light grew darker.

Great use of the backdrop - The lighting seems a tad harsh though for this kind of shot - Also the shadows block her feet so it looks like she has none which is a little distracting

Not bad at all, but her oversharpened eye (or the flash reflection ?) gives her a look a bit strange. Nice light and colors though.
