I actually prefer this to your entry - not saying it would have done any better, but it appeals to me more. There is more that I can hang something of myself on - memories of, hankerings for, summer walks in the evening, picnics, exploring.
This is also my favourite (not counting the seascapes...). The composition is awesome. Only concern with regard to score is the issue of horizontal versus vertical.
Ha! This is my favorite, and now I see that Ben says it is his, too.
The bright spot of sky at fence level (mid-photo left) grabs my eye. Is that a "flaw" or does the photo need that? I wish the flowers were the bright spots.
