I went for a hike after a night of much-needed rain, and took pictures of wildflowers that seemed alive with raindrops and rare dewdrops. I used the kit lens with my camera and focused in as close as I could. This would have been better with a good macro and ring light, but I like what I could accomplish with the equipment I have.

The use of the raindrops to act as lenses bringing into focus the out of focus flowers behind is wonderful. An 8.

The focus works well here, but to me there might be a little too much of the out of focus plant in the shot below the drop (it is slightly distracting in that there isn't enough negative space imho). Maybe a tighter crop on the drop itself.

The only problem I see with this composition is that it is made up of very much photographed subjects (water drops and flowers) here at DPC. It is technically well done, but doesn't grab my interest.

The droplet on the flower with the reflection is terrific, however the flower at the bottom is a bit distracting. The image would probably still be ballanced without it. 7
