 PP-details: opened RAW in CS4, adjusted exposure, vibrance, and black level slightly. rotate and crop. cloned out a dust spot and dark speck of sand. layer for levels, masking just for sand. layer for local contrast enhancement of rock and leaf. selective color layer to boost and deepen color in sand and leaf. soft light layer to brighten rock and leaf. cloning on left side of circle to clean up the extra sand that is left in a pile when creating the pattern. contrast boost with large radius USM. resize to 1600 pixels long, sharpen, resize to 780 px. add border, save for web.

really nice simple composition, but with the way you have set it up I think you should have cropped out the bottom to make it more symmetrical.
