Blazing Texas Sunsets

*Composition (content)*
Your use of thirds is good. Not knowing the surroundings, would it have been possible to have the tree line go completely across the bottom of the screen? This would have better sold the idea of the tree being ablaze. Perhaps even a tighter crop would have worked. You definitely captured some nice colors and cloud formations.

*Background*
You have a nice deep focus on this shot. The slight movement of the branches of the tree helps sell the 'blazing' concept, but may have been a little distracting to most. I like the colors in the sky.

*Camera Work (Technical)*
You have a nice clean low light shot with no noise.

*Digital Processing (technical)*
Sharpening is very good (not too soft and no trace of over sharpening).
Balance between light and dark is good.
Compression is good (no jpeg artifacts)

*My opinion*
I think this photo is good. It may have scored how it did due to the number of other sunsets, or lack of human interest, can't say for sure, but it is technically a fine shot and with a different cropping may pull the 'Blazing Texas Sunsets' title off a little better.

see this is another sunset shot which is super but which you wouldn't see in a newspaper. which is of course a stinging criticism of newspapers i know, but you know what i'm saying.

I̢۪m not exactly sure what this would make the front page of, but it is a really good sunset photo. I like the colors and the highlights don̢۪t look blown out on my screen. I think you did a good job on this one. This is the 3rd sunset picture I have seen in a row and this is definitely the best of the 3.

Seems to be a lot of sunset/sunrise pics this week.

Blazing all right. The motion in the Cam makes it look like the trees are on fire.

Pretty picture. Whether it's frontpage worthy or not. . .I guess that depends on the other news, but it would have to be a pretty slow week.

Great colours. No, awesome colours.
I think I would have tried to get a treeline all the way across the bottom, but that's just me.
