 Not expecting anything from this one. I like it quite a bit, but it's soft in the front, people aren't going to like the negative space, the book is too blown, and they'll probably think it's not unusual enough. I'm guessing lucky if I make it to 5.3!

My two other options were: and both were funky, but seemed more like a snapshot.

btw, this was a wild mockingbird. I "borrowed" my husband's bedside table and put it out on the deck. Placed the book and hung black fabric. Put mealworms on the book hoping to attract something. The mockingbird came, but only for a very short time and didn't come back, so I wasn't able to get the DOF right.

Oh I love this. It has a surreal sense to it. I wish the background weren't so mottled, but that's a nit. I can certainly see this on the cover of a book with red text. :) Nice.
