 This strange looking aircraft sits on a pole outside a former gas station. The store has been a few other things since being a gas station. It looks to me as if it is based on the body of an old private plane, but has had a few "modifications". Propeller is removed, "jet engines" have been added under the tail (of all places!), and the cockpit is open. Then there is the turquoise and red paint job that grabs your eyes and rips them out of their sockets.

This is my first entry using my new Tamron 10-22 lens. It was useful for getting the entire scene in without standing in the street, and I think it gave it a dramatic swoopy appearance. I intentionally went with fairly strong saturation, in order to play up the paint job. Though I like it, My expectation is that this will not have high scoring broad appeal. However, a closer view removes all the context of where this odd plane is located.

Anticipated critiques:
-Busy/distracting background
-Oversaturated
-Extreme wideangle perspective is too much

Post-challenge notes:
Well, I bombed on this one. At least I ended up above a 5. As best as I can figure, I shot a photo of a local eyesore and that's how it was voted. As one commenter mentioned, I probably went overboard on the saturation. I was trying to show the garish appearance of this sight and probably succeeded too well. Can't win 'em all.
