I just love how the clouds seem to hover above the houses.
To add to what others have said, edit in sRGB, proof colors to monitor and then just save for web. That way what you see is how most browsers will render the photo. |

Ahh - suburban Australia. Quiet looking street.
I think I might have been tempted to lighten up the houses a bit. |

Ter,
When I examined the image info, it says that it was saved in color space AdobeRGB. I'm not an expert at this, but I know that images for the web need to use color space sRGB. In the save for web dialog in photoshop, there's a check-box for this. It might work better to do this conversion earlier in the process (before you resize for the web) but you'll have to play with that. There have been a bunch of threads about this type of color management, and how different browsers handle the color management in different ways, but I know you have to get the file into sRGB to have any hope.
I hope this helps...
BTW,this is a going to be really impressive with more color. |

My recent free study entry did this to me when I did save for web. It still looks saturated enough but it lost it's "punch". So I know what you mean but I can't tell you how to fix it.
As for this photo, I love the dramatic looking sky and all the street lines kind of rolling up and down and around. Nice job! |

Beautiful sky and great composition! I have experienced a similar problem, but for me the problem occurs when I 'save for web' - suddenly all the richness is sucked out. The only way I have been able to get around this is to bang on a hue/saturation layer and oversaturate the image before saving for web, so that when it 'save for web' reduces it, it is back to the correct visual level. I have found this has solved my problem, as I think that is where it all goes wrong, rather than on the site perhaps? Give it a go? |

thanks for the comments
what i was refering to was when processed in CS4 it appears richer than the uploaded image to the site
was this a common occurrence to others? |

The colours are beautiful, Terry, do they need to be any richer? |

Ah.....the Suburbs.......I miss Melbourne.......
I always find it hard to preserve the rich colours in these type of shots. I probably would have cloned out the main lightpost (if I had time) cause i dont think it adds anything.......I do like the roundabout in the image, and the way the road comes from the edge of the photo. These llimes do help bring attention to the house on the corner. |
