The Pate Transportation museum, located a few miles south of Fort Worth. The aircraft are in a worsening state of disrepair. Unfortunately, the museum has recently closed due to lack of funding. It was run by volunteers for a while, and I did get there to see some of the car collection a few months back. The cars are all indoors and in good condition. I assume the planes will either be taken by other museums or continue to deteriorate. I didn't have much choice of perspectives shooting from the fence, and the weather didn't cooperate with me either. I think for the limitations I had, I did well with this, but I would be surprised if this does any better than a mid-pack finish. For anyone interested, here is an article discussing the closure.

Anticipated critiques:
-Overprocessed
-Strange angle
-Expect some comments about the poor condition the aircraft are in.

Post-challenge notes:
This one teased me by staying slightly over a 6 for about half the challenge and then dropped in the last day. Can't complain as it still did way better than I had anticipated. This wasn't a 6+ entry.

Nice one Yo. You've got me looking aircraft and military hardware museums around here.

Depressing, but very good photo. These are more victims of a country losing it's roots as the new generations disconnect with the past.
I hope that the planes find homes before they disintegrate. It's hard to move a big plane like these if they aren't airworthy.

Here's my comments (because you put the CW in the title)

If I was voting on this challenge, I would have given you a 6. I like your composition especially how you've framed the flying boat with the foreground aircraft. My one minor issue is that I feel you could have cropped off the right hand edge slightly to loose the wing-root so that distraction was removed.

Looks almost like an HDR shot (or maybe some topaz). I like the textures it leaves on the planes themselves. Gread DOF too, good sharpness on all the important stuff in this shot.

love the subject matter and the colours are atmospheric but composition seems maybe a little too busy and cluttered for my eye.

I like the PP on this, gives it a gritty feel...I also like the way the tail of the plane in the foreground frames the plane in the background. Wish I had thought about this idea because we live very close to a airbase that has a similar static display. Well done, I'm just guessing this is Yo_Spiff.

Poor planes. A fine photo, but the planes look a bit depressing really.

Very nicely done. I love the choice to include so much of the sky, as it was added interest for me against the metallic bodies of the planes.
