I've always wanted a whole house vacuum system. Especially one with cobwebs. ;)

Very intruiging shot, love the webs at the edge

I feel like I turned a corner in the dark and my flashlight/torch suddenly picked out this really interesting shape. There is just something about the curve of this that makes me think of a spring attached to a gate post, rather than a hose.... Great to share a place in the Spring Catalogue with you.

Spooky! Love how the hose is glowing. The cobwebs make this look extra creepy.

Excellent product photography. Every home needs one of these.

Nice contrast between the light and the dark.

This either speaks to the utter futility of spring cleaning, or the magic and mysteries of arachnid silk. (Commenting only.)

WOW, what a great idea--product shots for a catalog of abstract art! I love it!

I have voted 8 on most of the abstract catalog entries including this one. Four of them I thought were stunning abstracts so I gave them 10s.

I understand that some people are upset about this set of entries. One of the important functions of contemporary art is to raise issues and push boundaries. This often gets people upset. Hang in there!

i am missing how this fits a product shot from a catalog

Love the image, but again, the image as the product doesn't fit the challenge and, as I have commented to the others, It's hard to vote the image a single submission knowning that these were a collective effort by a group.

Yum. Techno-organic nightmare. Deep and dark and beautiful and horrible. Me like. 10

As this is the first one of the "abstract" entries I come across in voting, I'll comment on this only; your companions will read it anyway.
I understand that someone who believes an artistic photograph has to be blurry, under- or overexposed, sepiatoned b/w with an unidentifiable, but in any case dirty or rotten subject must hate a "product shot" challenge. But that is what makes DPC a good place: a wide range of subjects to choose from and no pressure to enter or to vote- if you like tack sharp flower shots or appetizing food-shots like I do there's a load of opportunities as well as for those that like expressionist work or grungy close-ups. Don't try to change DPC or the average voters opinion, you will fail, rather find the niche you fit into.
Don't expect this to do badly, so you can say you are misjudged genius - there's always some people (at least the rest of your circle) that will give out high votes for humor (though I find the load of abstracts annoying), or for an emotion that your work will unintentionally evoke. It will do mediocre, like you probably are.
5, to help you over your hurt feelings.
