I always try and keep in the back of my mind the current challenges in case something appears that may be applicable. I haven't had the chance to work on a challenge yet so I expect this to be labelled a 'point & shoot' (which it is) but I still think it is a little worthy of people giving it a vote and hopefully some comments.

Anyway, spending an hour at the beach with the family this branch caught my eye. I really didn't want to submit a tree branch and would loved to have been more imaginative but it was this branch or nothing. Slightly rotated to increase angle. Increased saturation, sharpened, added border and resized for submission.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I thought the angle would be something that would be liked or hated. I hadn't noticed the blue tinge on my little laptop but looking on someone else's screen it was obvious (need to get a good screen - one day).

Well this, my 4th challenge, has given me my PB - hopefully one day I'll take a photo that will be considered average :-) I love the possitive feedback as it gives me hope but the critisms is what I need to help me improve so thanks for those.

The processing and angle here give this a bit of an uneasy feeling.

I like the way this makes me lean to the left. LOL. I love the water and the crispness with the detail.

This is an interesting composition using the camera rotation to frame the shot. The harsher sunlight serves to shade the texture of the branch somewhat but it really highlighted the ripples in the water well. There seems to be an overall blue cast to the image.

I think this shot would have been a lot more effective if the horizon wasn't so severely tilted. It is very disorienting.
