Would never have thought of the masking tape thing. I love the lines and the simplicity of the single bloom was inspired. I'm drawn to the shadow of the one little leaf.

My first thought is that I like the elements here: sunshine, balanced composition, life, and solitary calmness with a hint of mystery always helps. 7

Less is more. Lovely shadows.

Nice image - I like the way this communicated two distinct planes so very well and how the image plays with the mind's perception of horizontal and vertical at the back on the scene. I think it could have stood a touch more contrast.

7 - I like the quirkiness, but overall seems a little 'dull', color/tonewise. The perspective seems slightly tilted too.

Removing the flower and leaving just the shadow would have rated higher with me, still a good image..

Like the title, I don't think the photograph needs it, the lines are compelling enough for me, even the tones could be richer and brighter, I like image. No message. Just shapes to enjoy.

Pretty. Sorry, but the shadow of the blinds detracts, destroying the delicacy of the flower, for me.

The diagonal shadows are neat. Goes well with the image.

Pretty cool. Sure you didn't intend this for the "shadows" challenge? hehe. Original and creative. There a tad bit of noise though.
