Yeah, well my title was weird, but that's what I was aiming for. This was titled "Cradle of Life" until about an hour before rollover, when I thought - what sop! I need something a bit more 'out there' for this challenge.

For the first day or so the negative comments stung a bit, but after that I started to relish them :) And I guess being too weird for Posthumous has got to count for something, right?

For those interested, this is a tomato grub - I assume that this is the caterpillar creating its cocoon stage, because the webbing got thicker over time as I observed it, but it doesn't seem right when I looked up the life cycle of this particular bug, so I'm a bit stumped.

This was photographed in the light rain, hence the drops.

I was just browsing my top pics on some recent challenges and came across this one. I gave you a 9. Looks like our tastes cross paths fairly often. :)

I liked this. Just didn't know what to say. It is all very beautifully shown.

What an interesting find. I love how the larva (?) is surrounded by a web covered in dew. This shot makes me want to know more about the scene that you captured.

5 - Like the subject choice, wish it was 'showcased' more.

An 8 from me - full of laval goodness!! Nicely done though, just the right depth of field for this.

I will have to bump this up...I love the tone in this and your focus on the larvae?

Nicely done and I like the effective use of DOF. I can't quite see this as a piece of artwork on my wall, however. Of course, that is very much a personal preference thing.

The first millisecond I thought, "What the heck? A worm in some kinda wine glass"? But, oh no.... So much more. Wonderful.

your title is horrifying but the image works nicely on its own.
