Great photo of a bit older technology! Excellent lighting. I like the reflections on the metal. There's nothing bad I could say other than that the photo suffers from JPEG compression. When you look closely you can see the typical "atrifacts". Your photo is only only 28 kB big. Try saving in higher quality. You can use up to 150 kB for a photo on DPC. -stephan

Quite possibly the best shot ever taken well done. 10 from the slimharpo machine.

Light is too harsh
Good subject though.

Would have scored better if the lighting wasn't so harsh. I would have preferred a higher angle too, in order to eliminate some of the black space on the left.

I happen to love antiques, so you've captured my attention right off the bat. I like the subject, but the composition could stand some improvement I think. The perspective has the round part too centered. The arm could come from the corner, on an angle and pull the viewer right in to some place other than dead center. The lighting is nice, but a little more on the record might be nice too. The coloring is good...very old fashioned to match the subject.
Nice picture...hope my critique helps. Anyway, best of luck in the challenge. 6 Grayce

I realize your title tells the story but you should have let a little more of the story teller in on the fun. I hate you cropped off so much of the victrola. Not many know what the name is much less the machine. You have to be my age and above to know both of them. I love this nostalia wise and photo wise other wise. Be wiser the next time and show a little more. Have any out takes? PTL

Very nicely done -- and a very good subject. My favorite of the record album pictures this week.

beautiful shot of a beautiful machine

Good shot. Might be a bit more effective if the angle was slightly higher up and 'looking down'.

A Victrola was one of the first things I thought of this week. Might be just a wee bit too much glare on the arm. DPz
