I made this mess with the Smena 8M, a cheap 35mm camera made in the USSR. The film is Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 800.

These were shot as I was walking past the ice rink. The partly overlapping frames wasn't intentional, but they sure did line up nicely! This was also the end of the roll -- thank you, ladies at the Wexford Target film lab, for being so careful with the scissors.

We are having an unseasonably cold February and March. I am hoping that by the next few weeks, it'll be the usually warm Texas weather we love so much. They predict a splash of color with all of our wildflowers, since they like a cold rainy winter.

Skating always made my ankles hurt. I love the woman walking out of the frame in the left shot. :)

Film has magic. Part of that is the anticipation when the roll is shot and waiting to be picked up from the developers. I sort of miss that with shooting digital. For that reason, I still have a couple of film SLR's, one Canon, and two Nikons. I usually get the film developed and scanned directly to disc without printing it. That way I can edit from the disc before printing. It's less expensive that way too.

I was thinking about that Smena lately thinking you haven't posted any shots with it recently. Has a cool way of instantly aging the image.
