This is a water-wall on one of the newly completed luxury condos in town.
I was touring one of the units when i took this photo.

Photoshop was basic editing...
most of the shot was already black and white so just used Hue/sat. to bring out the green/yellow in the grass
Levels, vibrance USM, and crop. resize for web.

Hi from the Critique Club:

First, let me say... This is a striking photo. Makes me stop and look. I don't often try to ascribe a subtle meeting to a photo and I won't try on this one. You said yourself, you took it while you were touring the condo's. :)

I think the photo is rather intriguing, or rather, i'm interested in the figure. What is he doing, why is he there? Is he taking a picture of the water wall too? I like the bold blocks of color, both the black and white and the bright green. It feels cramped at the bottom of the frame, but I'm guessing the crop was more or less determined by the surrounding environment.

Technically, I can't really add anything. I'll commend you on seeing an unusual scene and taking the time to pull out your camera. Too often, it is easy to just keep on moving...

Good work, the the voters appreciated it by scoring it an even 6. Keep shooting.

Interesting POV and great processing. However, I find that my eye is jumping back and forth between the person and their shadow and the bright falling water, never settling anywhere. This creates a slightly uncomfortable feeling.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: What an interesting composition - full of contrasts it seems to be. This stillness of the garden oasis contrasting with the rush of the fulling water; bathed in sunshine in some areas, steeped in shadow in others; bright coloration here, near monochrome tones there.

Critical stuff: I'm not sure if the figure is collaborating with you, if so, moving him back - taking his shadow off the white line may have improved the image ever so slightly.

Overall: A well crafted image - I like it.

Great perspective and I really like the geometric shapes in this. And the green "pop" is perfect!
