Thanks to everyone who commented. Nice to see that other people enjoy the photo, too. It wasn't an UFO ;-) The streaks of light come from a bus driving along the street. I chose the title (and think it fits to the challenge topic) because bridges are an important technology and always have been vital links between cities and people in general.

The photo was only cropped and scaled. I did not do any heavy postprocessing to it. The colouring comes from the white balance I chose. I set it to "night" if I remember correctly and not to the one matching the lamps on the street. That's why the photo has this golden tint, which I like on this photo. I also did not sharpen it. The jagged edges come from the JPEG compression. I maxed out the quality to fit the 150 kB limit but it still was not enough.

I still wonder why not more people complained about the lens flare created by the lamp to the upper right (not seen on the photo). This really annoyed me and I tried to get rid of it by going some steps backward and zooming more in, but it didn't help much. Also unfortunately there came no bus again.

This shot is so cool. I can't wait to see the photo info on it. I would love to try something like this. A very dynamic composition with interesting lighting. One of my highest rated. lhall

Not a bad shot at all. Only problem is the noise off of the street lamps

I like anything with a lot of movement. In this instance i think it's beatifully composed with great lighting. Great feel and great texture in the wet cement and cobblestone. Subtle old and new tech by way of bridge and transportation. Good job!

Beautiful work. Wonderful color. How did you do this? I like seeing the structures in the background. I'm sure you'll do well in the challenge.

This is a simple, relatively uncluttered composition. Colors are dramatic, and catch my eyes immediately. The ground looks sort of wet...good! There is just enough detail visible to discern it is a bridge and thus a "link" as the title indicates. Nice strong diagonal element, which I always seem to find pleasing. Some contrasting texture in the foreground...good.
You did a good job with this. COngrats! 9 Grayce

Nice, I love that the streaks are wavy rather than just straight. I really enjoy photos of this effect.

This is such a great photo. The tones in the truck's lights match the rest of the scene so well. Very little graininess. You have a good camera!

I really like this shot. I don't know how much from strictly a technology standpoint, but it's one of the first ones that really stands out to me. Nice shot - Inspzil

Very nice photograph. Unfortunately, it seems to have been doctored/modified heavily.

One of best 'light trail' shots I've seen in a while.

I really like the "softness" of the lights (not referring to focus, more with regards to texture). Good shot. karmat
