Greetings from the Critique Club!

Ooh I love shots like this, moody and atmospheric, with an unsettling setting. The lighting is quite interesting, and very effective for this capture. Great textures and the pov is definitely snaffles-approved :-) I think the effect is almost temple-like.

Sadly, shots like this seem to suffer in Free Study. An abstract like this, especially in b/w and without people or indications thereof in the frame, tend to come across as cold and forbidding. The slight softness can be seen as a help or hindrance, it really is a very fine line.

However you still placed quite well for a shot of this nature in Free Study. Good work, keep on shooting!

Feel free to PM me with any questions,

Susan

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Bags of atmosphere in this shot - mainly due to the lighting and your edit to it. It makes me think of a giant corkscrew burrowing into the earth. I do like how the image is just lines and curves and black and white.

Critical stuff: The final sharpness just isn't there and I do think this hurts the image a little.

Overall: A great scene to present, I just wish it was technically perfect.

I really like the lighting. It really helps create symetry.

I never thought that wisdom and insight could be found in a parking garage. Thanks for the tip.
