The ambience just ain't quite the same as old towns in Europe... taken at a lovely modern shopping center where the GIANT parking lot is surrounded by stores. On the plus side, one of those stores is a Home Depot.
Now you know why I get frustrated seeing your awesome street photography in Europe. We just aren't old enough to have cool architecture but the people are always the same no matter where you go. Different features and hats, "but we are more alike than we are different" (thanks to Maya Angelou for that quote - it's one of my favs). What makes this cool is the acidic colors!
I'm curious to know if you find street shooting harder to do stateside. I personally found the people in California very approachable -- of course, I was at the beach.
