In my world what you can find to keep warm you use. No I'm not poor, or homeless, or in some bizarre contest. But I do work outside all day, everyday, come rain, shine, hail, blizzard, flood, drought, or any other situation. And you quickly find that no one cares what you look like, least of all yourself, as long as your warm.

Nice positioning of your subject in the frame. I think the problem here is lack of highlights and contrast. You have captured great texture in the hat and I really do like the way she is looking at the camera. It would have been nice if there were better catch lights in the eyes but I do like your compostion.
Good concept that could possibly be explored even further with visual contrasts of maybe snow scenes and bright kiddies hats on grown-ups. Unfortunately the B&W conversion lacks punch here and it looks more like someone sitting in their bedroom than trying to survive against the odds . .
That said - staying in many teenagers bedrooms for more than 5 mins can seem a little like trying to survive . .
