Last minute entry. I debated then I thought: what the heck. Enter it just to share it.

I wish this was under advanced so I could play around with the sky a bit.

Just levels and some saturation tweaks in LR2 before exporting to TIFF and then resizing, sharpening, exporting to JPG in PSP XI

The Story:
So now that this is in voting I thought I would add the story to this. On our vacation to Kauai, my wife and I tried zip lining. This was the second last zip line for our tour. The distance across is about 1800' and is about 300' above the valley floor at the midpoint. It takes about 90 seconds to travel and once you are done they use a ladder to get you down. Basically you take off and just enjoy the view...while suspending by that bit of steel cable.

Monday:

Well...Strange results so far considering I wasn't going to enter this at all. Its sitting around 6.18 with a day and a bit of voting left. It looks like people are enjoying it so who am I to disagree. :)

GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB

Wow, great shot taken on one of my favorite islands. This received a fine score and was pleasing to many of those who commented.

I agree that it would have been even better with a stronger sky and much stronger depth of field. Still, as it is, your camera directed attention to that very interesting mechanical device that was to propel you down the hill. and this after all, was the point of the story.

So, you told a good story and told it well, and received a good score. Congratulations.

Alice

Really cool concept, though I would've liked to see a bit more of the trees in focus. Either the camera pointed down a bit, or an f/11-16 aperture, or both... anyway, good colors and like I said... cool concept :)

Would have liked to see a little more DOF used here but a good shot for the challenge all the same.

this has a 'magazine shot' feel to me. It would be a nice stock image dealing with eco tourism, or tourism in general.

Scary, I'm not a fan of heights. Good job putting the viewer in the shot like they were getting ready to go on the ride.
