| These portraits are all very good, this being the best probably. In this one, I think the light is spot on. The tattoos are important, and he makes an excellent model, and there are tons of interesting elements -- tattoos, pendant, perfect face, interesting background -- but for me, something is missing. I really wish the model was engaged in some way. For example, nobody would know this was your best friend from this series of photos. Photographically, this is probably a superior image for many reasons, but stylistically it isn't, since I don't really know anything about this guy, and it isn't telling me anything beyond the obvious. |
